Role & responsibilities

Empathy Primary Care, a U.S.-based medical practice, is hiring an experienced credentialing and billing specialist to manage insurance provider enrollment and billing operations remotely. This role is central to keeping our providers properly credentialed with payers and our billing cycle running smoothly.
Manage end-to-end provider credentialing and enrollment with commercial insurance payers, Medicare, and Medicaid
Create and maintain CAQH profiles; keep payer portals current
Track and complete re-credentialing / revalidation cycles ahead of expiration deadlines
Prepare and submit provider enrollment applications (NPPES, PECOS, payer-specific portals)
Handle medical billing functions: charge entry, claims submission, payment posting
Follow up on denied or rejected claims; manage accounts receivable




Coordinate with U.S.-based staff on documentation and payer communications
Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards throughout

Preferred candidate profile Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience with U.S. medical insurance credentialing (CAQH, PECOS, NPPES, payer enrollment portals)
Experience with U.S. medical billing and claims processing (CMS-1500 forms, ICD-10, CPT coding)
Familiarity with major U.S. insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurers)
Solid written and spoken English
Comfortable working U.S. business hours overlap
Prior experience with a U.S. medical practice or billing company strongly preferred
