The role provides independent second-line Compliance oversight and credible challenge to support American Express Banking Corp. (AEBC) in meeting its regulatory obligations while enabling business objectives to be achieved within established risk appetite.

The position is responsible for overseeing compliance risks, assessing control effectiveness, reviewing issues and remediation activities, and providing regulatory guidance to business partners. It supports the development and execution of the market Compliance program, ensuring alignment with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and enterprise standards.

The role partners with stakeholders across the organization to embed compliance requirements into business processes, products, and strategic initiatives. It also monitors regulatory developments, evaluates their impact, and promotes a solid culture of compliance through training, awareness, and ongoing engagement.

Where applicable, the role provides oversight of Compliance and AML activities, supports effective risk management and governance, and helps ensure timely identification, escalation, and resolution of compliance-related risks and issues.
