Title : Mainframe Storage Subject Matter Expert (SME) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Storage SME to provide technical leadership, operational support, and strategic direction for enterprise mainframe storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in IBM mainframe storage technologies, disaster recovery, performance optimization, and storage management processes. In addition to robust technical skills, this individual must demonstrate exceptional communication abilities, partnering effectively with infrastructure teams, application owners, business stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership.

This role requires a proactive skilled who can simplify complex technical topics, influence decisions, lead initiatives, and ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of mission-critical mainframe storage settings.

Key Responsibilities Storage Infrastructure Management : Serve as the primary technical expert for enterprise mainframe storage platforms and related technologies.

Design, implement, maintain, and optimize IBM mainframe storage environments.

Manage storage allocation, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and storage lifecycle management.





Administer and support technologies such as :

GDPS

Copy Services Manager

FlashCopy

Global Mirror z/OS storage management utilities

Ensure high availability, resiliency, and business continuity across production and disaster recovery environments.

Technical Leadership

Lead storage architecture reviews and recommend best practices.

Develop storage standards, policies, and operational procedures.

Provide guidance and mentorship to system programmers, storage administrators, and support teams.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements aligned with business objectives.

Participate in infrastructure modernization and cloud integration initiatives.

Operational Excellence

Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage-related incidents and performance issues.

Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Support audits, compliance initiatives, and regulatory requirements.
