Role Description The Mechanical Design Intern will support the design and development of mechanical components and enclosures for IoT and sensing devices used in Beckkon’s presence intelligence platform. Day-to-day tasks include creating 3D models and 2D drawings, assisting in prototyping and testing, collaborating with hardware and electronics teams to ensure proper mechanical fit, and helping to iterate designs based on performance, manufacturability, and cost considerations.

The intern will also document design changes, prepare basic material and component specifications, and contribute to design reviews.



This is an internship role that is in office and located at I3-F Incubator, IIT (BHU), Varanasi, providing hands-on experience with real products and systems.

Qualifications
Foundational skills in mechanical design and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) for 3D modeling and technical drawings.
Understanding of basic engineering principles, including mechanics of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerance considerations.
Ability to assist in prototyping, assembly, and basic testing of mechanical components, including using common workshop tools and equipment.
Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams (hardware, electronics, and software) and interpreting engineering requirements into mechanical solutions.
Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and the ability to follow design standards and safety practices.
Pursuing a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field; prior project or internship experience in product or device design is beneficial.
Interest in IoT, sensing technologies, and real-time systems, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced workplace.
