Hiring: Lead Engineer – Genset Mechanical Design

Location: Pune

Experience: 12–15 Years

We are hiring a Lead Engineer – Genset Mechanical Design with solid experience in defense genset product development. The ideal candidate should have expertise in designing and developing mechanical systems for diesel generator sets and leading complete product development projects.

Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end product development of defense gensets from concept to production.
Design and develop genset mechanical auxiliary systems, including cooling and exhaust systems .
Design and engineer genset canopies, base plates, fuel tanks, enclosures, and base frames .
Select and integrate mechanical components such as radiators, silencers, AVMs, air cleaners, and fuel filters.
Conduct genset performance testing and cold start testing .
Coordinate with cross-functional teams for prototype development, validation, and product release.




Manage project execution independently while leading a team of engineers.
Create and maintain BOMs using PLM systems.

Required Skills & Experience
12–15 years of experience, including at least 7+ years in Genset Canopy, Base Plate & Fuel Tank design.
Hands-on experience with DG Sets, Genset Enclosures, and Base Frames .
Robust background in product development with ownership of complete project lifecycle.
Experience working on defense gensets (5 KVA to 125 KVA) .
Knowledge of designing systems for extreme operating conditions :
Operating temperature up to -40°C
High-altitude performance up to 5,500 meters
Proficiency in CREO, AutoCAD, and PLM .
Experience in genset testing and cold start testing .
Knowledge of defense standards JSS 0251 and JSG 0308 is preferred.
