Role & responsibilities
Administer and maintain Postgre SQL database clusters in production and development environments.
Perform database tuning, optimization, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
Implement security policies and procedures for database access.
Automate routine tasks using scripts or tools.
Monitor database performance and proactively address potential issues.
Handle backup and recovery processes using tools like pgBackRest, WAL-G, etc.Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support database-related needs.
Plan and execute database upgrades and patching with minimal downtime

Preferred candidate profile
5+ years of hands-on experience in Database Administration for PostgreSQL database
Solid knowledge of replication (streaming, logical), partitioning, and indexing.




Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
Proficiency with PostgreSQL tools and extensions (pgAdmin, pgbouncer, pgstatstatements, etc.).
Solid understanding of Linux system administration.Experience with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
Experience in projects handling big volumes of data
Experience in database normalization, indexing, and performance tuning techniques.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) is a plus.
Experience in SQL programming in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures in Postgre SQL shall be an added advantage
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
