Job Summary

Birla Global University is looking for an experienced and proactive Purchase Officer to manage end-to-end procurement activities, vendor management, inventory coordination, and statutory compliance. The role requires ensuring timely, cost-effective, and transparent procurement of goods and services in accordance with university policies and financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare annual and quarterly procurement plans in coordination with departments.
Manage vendor sourcing, registration, evaluation, and performance reviews.
Handle RFQs, RFPs, tenders, comparative statements, and purchase committee coordination.
Issue and monitor Purchase Orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Coordinate inventory management and recommend reorder levels.




Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to optimize procurement costs.
Administer supply contracts, AMCs, warranties, and service agreements.
Ensure quality inspection and compliance with purchase specifications.
Verify invoices and coordinate with the Finance Department for payment processing.
Maintain procurement documentation, vendor records, and procurement MIS through ERP/e-Procurement systems.
Ensure compliance with university policies, GST, Income Tax provisions, audit requirements, and procurement regulations.
Coordinate effectively with academic, administrative, finance, IT, library, hostel, transport, and maintenance departments.
