ROLE SUMMARY The Procurement Manager will be responsible for end-to-end sourcing and procurement of finishing materials, fixtures, fittings, and specialised trade services required for interior fit-out and manufacturing projects. The role requires deep category knowledge of finishing materials (laminates, veneers, hardware, paints & coatings, stone, glass, false ceiling systems, flooring, etc.), solid vendor management, and the ability to balance cost, quality, and project timelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead procurement planning for finishing materials laminates, veneers, edge bands, hardware & fittings, paints & coatings, stone, glass, false ceiling, flooring, and allied trade items — in line with project BOQs and schedules.
Develop, evaluate, and maintain an approved vendor base across finishing material categories; conduct periodic vendor audits and performance reviews.
Drive cost-effective sourcing through competitive bidding, negotiation, and rate contracts, while maintaining quality benchmarks aligned with design and technical specifications.
Coordinate closely with Design, Estimation, Site/Project teams, and the Manufacturing unit to ensure timely material availability and avoid project delays.
Track material lead times, place and follow up on purchase orders,
and proactively manage supply risks for critical-path items.
Negotiate commercial terms, credit periods, and annual rate contracts with key suppliers to optimise working capital.
Ensure procurement documentation, approvals, and processes comply with company policy and statutory requirements (GST, e-way bills, contracts).
Monitor market trends, recent materials, and alternate vendors to improve cost competitiveness and material innovation.
Manage procurement budgets and provide MIS/cost variance reports to management on a regular basis.
Resolve vendor disputes, quality escalations, and delivery issues in coordination with quality and project teams.
Mentor and supervise junior procurement/purchase executives within the team.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
MBA/PG Diploma in Supply Chain or Materials Management preferred.
8–12 years of procurement experience, with a significant portion in the interior fit-out, furniture manufacturing, joinery, or construction finishing industry.
Solid working knowledge of finishing materials, specifications, and standard industry brands/vendors.
Proven negotiation skills and a track record of cost savings on materials and services procurement.
