Equitymaster's readers come to us to make sense of where to put their money, and mutual funds are where most of them start. We are looking for a Research Analyst who lives and breathes mutual fund research: someone who can take apart a scheme's portfolio, read through the numbers, and turn a dense factsheet into a explicit, honest view a DIY investor can act on. This is a research-first role that also writes for our publications and presents to camera.
What You Will Do
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on mutual funds across categories: equity, debt, hybrid and passive.
Evaluate scheme portfolios, performance, risk, expense ratios, and fund manager track records and mandates.
Build and maintain views, ratings and watchlists on the funds worth tracking.
Translate research into high-quality written content for equitymaster.com and other publications: e-newsletters, research reports and investment guides.
Script and present video content on mutual funds and personal finance for Equitymaster's channels.
Support the development of current mutual fund and personal finance products through research.
Respond to queries from readers and subscribers on mutual funds and personal finance.
Incorporate feedback to keep content and research accurate, relevant and genuinely useful.
What We Are Looking For
2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in mutual fund research specifically.
A solid grasp of mutual fund structures, categories and evaluation metrics.
A sharp analytical mind and real comfort with data and number-crunching.
Excellent writing skills, able to turn complex analysis into clear, engaging copy in English.
A proactive thinker who anticipates what investors need to know next.
A collaborative team player who is comfortable owning a view.
Proficiency in MS Office and research tools.
Qualification and Certification
A valid NISM Series XV: Research Analyst Certification must be in place at the time of joining.
