Role Description The Science Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based at STAR POLICE ACADEMY in Vellore. This role involves planning and delivering science-related lessons and modules tailored to police academy curricula and competitive examinations.

The Science

Specialist will develop instructional materials, create assessments, and use engaging teaching methods to clarify scientific concepts relevant to policing, public safety, and general knowledge. Daily responsibilities include conducting classroom sessions, supporting learners with doubts and exam preparation, collaborating with other faculty to align science content with broader training programs,



and staying updated on syllabus changes and best practices in science education.

Qualifications

Robust grounding in Science with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and relate them to policing and public safety contexts.

Demonstrated Analytical Skills for interpreting data, solving problems, and training learners in logical reasoning and evidence-based thinking.

Excellent Communication skills, including transparent oral instruction, effective written materials, and the ability to engage diverse groups of learners.

Experience in Education, such as teaching, tutoring, or academic coaching, preferably in science or competitive exam preparation.

Research skills to update and refine course content, incorporate current developments, and design relevant practice questions and case studies.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a science discipline (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or related field);

education or pedagogy training is an advantage.

Ability to work on-site in Vellore, manage classroom dynamics, and maintain a qualified, inclusive learning environment.

Familiarity with police or government competitive examinations and curriculum requirements is highly beneficial.
