Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day production activities during the assigned shift for smart meter assembly, testing, and packaging.
Ensure timely achievement of production targets as per plan, while maintaining quality standards.
Supervise a team of operators, technicians, and line supervisors; assign tasks and monitor performance.
Monitor machinery and equipment functioning; coordinate with maintenance for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
Implement and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), 5S, lean manufacturing, and safety protocols.
Collaborate with QA/QC teams to address non-conformities and reduce rejection rates.
Maintain shift-wise production reports, logbooks, and incident records.
Conduct daily shift handovers and ensure explicit communication across shifts and departments.
Train and mentor operators and new joiners on work instructions, equipment use, and safety.
Coordinate with inventory/warehouse teams to ensure material availability on time.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in electronic product manufacturing, preferably smart meters or similar precision products.
Hands-on knowledge of SMT lines, PCB assembly, functional testing, calibration, and final product assembly.
Experience in handling ERP systems for production entries and inventory tracking.
Skills Required
Solid leadership and people management skills.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and quality tools (e.g., 7 QC tools, root cause analysis).
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Adaptable to work in rotational shifts (day/night).
