A CT and MRI technician performs diagnostic imaging procedures, operating specialized equipment to create high-quality images for diagnosis. Key duties include preparing and positioning patients, operating and maintaining equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining accurate patient records. They also collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare staff to review and discuss findings. Responsibilities
Patient Care and Safety:
Prepare patients for scans, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort and safety.
Monitor patients during procedures and administer contrast agents when necessary.
Adhere to all radiation and safety protocols and regulations.
Imaging and Equipment Operation:
Operate CT and MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images.
Position patients and equipment correctly to capture the required views.
Calibrate and maintain imaging equipment, performing quality control checks.
Documentation and Collaboration:
Maintain accurate and complete patient records,



including medical history and scan details.
Evaluate images for technical quality and consult with radiologists and other healthcare specialists.
Administrative Tasks:
Enter patient data into electronic medical records.
Schedule appointments and manage daily procedure schedules.
Answer patient questions and provide pre-procedure advice.

Qualifications
Education: Diploma or degree in Radiologic Technology or Medical Imaging.
Certifications: State license and certification, such as from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Skills:
Proficiency in operating CT and MRI equipment.
Solid knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in CT, MRI, and X-ray procedures is often required.
