Job Summary:

The Area Sales Manager (General Trade) will be responsible for leading and managing the sales operations within a defined geographical area, focusing specifically on the General Trade channel. This role involves achieving sales targets, expanding market reach, managing a team of sales representatives, and developing robust relationships with distributors and retailers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in FMCG sales, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the general trade market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets and objectives for the assigned area within the General Trade channel.
Lead, motivate, train, and manage a team of sales representatives, ensuring high performance, productivity, and adherence to company policies.
Identify and onboard current distributors and retailers to expand the company's distribution network and market penetration.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities,



and consumer behavior to identify current business opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retailers to foster loyalty and maximize sales.
Ensure effective execution of trade marketing activities, promotional schemes, and merchandising standards at the point of sale.
Manage inventory levels and product availability across the distribution network to prevent stock-outs and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Conduct regular market visits to assess sales performance, gather feedback, and provide on-the-spot coaching to the sales team.
Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to senior management, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sales activities.
