The Role
What you will do
- Manage SQL Server Instances: Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across Development, Test, and Production environments, including managing database objects, schemas, and configurations.
- Execute Upgrades and Migrations: Plan and perform database upgrades, migrations, and regular patching activities to keep systems secure and up to date.
- Optimize Database Performance: Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, tune queries and indexes,



and perform capacity planning and resource optimization to ensure high stability.
- Implement HA/DR Solutions: Design and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies while implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions like Always On, clustering, replication, and log shipping.
- Provide 24/7 Production Support: Troubleshoot complex database issues, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), manage production incidents to meet SLAs, and participate in on-call rotations.
- Enforce Database Security: Implement and maintain security policies, user roles, access controls, encryption, and auditing to ensure strict compliance with security standards.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with developers, infrastructure, and application support teams to assist with deployments, release management, and application performance tuning.
