Position: Fitter (Crane Maintenance)

Department: Rolling Mill Crane Maintenance

Location: Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose

To ensure reliable and effective operation of cranes in the Rolling Mill by carrying out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical systems. The role is responsible for minimizing equipment downtime, maintaining operational safety, and improving crane availability in HRM operations.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out preventive and breakdown mechanical maintenance of EOT cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment used in Rolling Mill operations.
Inspect, repair, and maintain crane components such as gearboxes, couplings, brakes, wheels, bearings, wire ropes, hooks, drums, and structural assemblies.
Perform alignment, fitting, replacement, lubrication, and adjustment of crane mechanical systems.




Identify mechanical faults and execute corrective actions to reduce crane downtime.
Monitor crane health and support reliability improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with electrical maintenance and operation teams for smooth maintenance activities.
Ensure proper maintenance of crane travel mechanisms, trolley systems, and hoisting systems.
Follow safety standards, work permit systems, and LOTO procedures during maintenance activities.
Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, and spare parts records.
Participate in shutdown maintenance and continuous improvement activities.

Required Skills & Competencies
Solid knowledge of EOT crane mechanical maintenance in Hot Rolling Mill operations.
Hands-on experience in maintenance of hoisting, trolley, and long-travel crane mechanisms.
Positive understanding of hydraulic, lubrication, and mechanical systems related to cranes.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical breakdowns efficiently.
Familiarity with industrial safety practices and maintenance standards.
Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency maintenance situations.
