Role & responsibilities
A Biomedical Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and management of medical equipment used in hospitals and healthcare facilities. The role ensures that medical devices operate safely, accurately, and comply with regulatory and quality standards while providing technical support to clinical staff.
Install, inspect, test, calibrate, and commission medical equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on biomedical devices.
Diagnose and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and equipment history.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Coordinate with equipment vendors for warranty claims, AMC/CMC services, and repairs.
Evaluate and recommend current medical equipment based on clinical requirements.
Preferred candidate profile
Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
15 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, installation, or clinical engineering (freshers with robust technical knowledge may also be considered).
Hands-on experience with medical equipment such as patient monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, defibrillators, ECG machines, ultrasound systems, X-ray, CT, MRI, and laboratory analyzers.
Solid understanding of preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of biomedical devices.
Knowledge of healthcare quality standards, electrical safety, and regulatory requirements
