The Deputy Manager – HSE is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving safety, health, and environmental policies across the organization. The role ensures compliance with statutory regulations, promotes a safe working culture, and minimizes workplace risks in industrial/engineering operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations
Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits
Monitor workplace conditions to ensure adherence to safety standards
Lead incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions
Organize and conduct safety training programs and awareness campaigns
Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Coordinate with project/site teams to enforce safety protocols
Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure statutory compliance
Implement emergency preparedness and response plans
Drive continuous improvement in SHE performance metrics
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B. Tech) in Mechanical / Civil/ Electrical Engineering.
Additional certifications (preferred) NEBOSH / IOSH Diploma in Industrial Safety ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 certifications.
Experience
5–8 years of relevant experience in Safety, Health & Environment.
Experience in industries such as construction or engineering projects preferred.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards
Excellent risk assessment and problem-solving skills
Good communication and leadership abilities
Ability to conduct audits and training sessions
Familiarity with incident reporting systems and safety tools
Proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools
