Position Purpose

The Marine Pilot is responsible for providing safe, productive,



and professional pilotage services for all vessels calling at APM Terminals Pipavav. The role ensures safe navigation within port limits, optimizes vessel movements and berth utilization, supports business continuity through effective marine planning, and contributes to maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct pilotage of container vessels, bulk carriers, tankers, Ro-Ro vessels, project cargo vessels, and other marine craft safely and efficiently within port limits.
Advise Masters on vessel navigation, berthing, unberthing, shifting, anchoring, and movement through approach channels and harbour waters.
Ensure compliance with port regulations, IMO requirements, and Company procedures.
Assess tides, currents, visibility, weather, under-keel clearance, and channel limitations before vessel movements.
Support Marine Operations in planning and coordinating vessel traffic to maximize
