Assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes, typically using the Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases coding systems.
Proficiency in CPT and ICD coding systems.
Specialized knowledge of neurosurgery procedures, terminology, and anatomy.
Understanding of healthcare compliance, regulations, and billing practices, particularly in the context of outpatient, Inpatient and Ambulatory surgical services.
Attention to detail and robust analytical skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Candidate Must be certified in either AHIMA or AAPC.
