The R&D; / Product Development Engineer is part of the Product Development team and is responsible for developing individual products or specific technical elements for low to medium complexity projects.
This role supports the development of Low Voltage, High Voltage, and Charge Inlet Connector systems, contributing across the product lifecycle from concept to validation.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Design
Assist in preparing technical proposals for low to medium complexity customer requirements
Support Senior Engineers by creating and modifying CAD models and drawings
Implement engineering change requests (ECN/ECR) and manage design revisions
Analyze prototype samples and refine product designs accordingly

Engineering Analysis & Validation
Collaborate with simulation teams and interpret analysis results for design optimization
Support Design Verification Plan (DVP) execution and refinement activities
Assist in Product Validation (PV) planning, testing, and documentation
Implement design updates based on DFM review feedback

Quality & Manufacturing Support
Create and update product specifications and technical documentation
Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) evaluations




Coordinate and resolve technical and manufacturing issues
Ensure design compliance with manufacturability and quality standards

Education & Experience
B.E / B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech (Mechanical or similar)
Typically 5+ years of experience in Product Design & Development

Core Competencies
Proficiency in CAD tools (CREO Part Modeling & Sheet Metal)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and product prints
Experience interpreting simulation results and translating them into design improvements
Working knowledge of DFM (Injection Molding, Stamping, Plating)
Hands-on exposure to DFMEA
Understanding of Tolerance Stack-up and GD&T;
Robust conceptual thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Knowledge of product development processes, tools, and validation methodologies
Familiarity with prototyping methods
Basic understanding of linear and non-linear analysis
Knowledge of product lifecycle management and engineering deliverables
Basic exposure to quality tools (8D, Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone)
Experience designing with Plastic and Sheet Metal components
