Experience: 3 5 years of hands-on CNC programming and machine operation experience,preferably in precision/aerospace component machining. Experience with Mitsubishi controllers and BFW VMCs strongly preferred.
Program CNC machines from 2D drawings and 3D models (G-code editing and CAM-based programming). Set up, operate, and run BFW VMCs (Mitsubishi controllers), turning center, and related equipment. Select appropriate tools, fixtures, feeds, and speeds for various materials (aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel, etc.). Perform tool offsets, work offsets, and program verification (simulation, dry runs) before production. Interpret GD&T; and engineering drawings; ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances.
Coordinate with the quality team and use CMM inspection feedback to adjust programs. Monitor tool wear, optimise cycle times, and maintain machining quality. Maintain setup documentation for repeatability on repeat orders. Adhere to shop-floor safety and 5S standards.
