Key Responsibilities
Prepare the endoscopy suite before each procedure by arranging instruments, consumables, medications, and equipment.
Assist consultants during procedures including:
Upper GI Endoscopy (EGD)
Colonoscopy
Sigmoidoscopy
ERCP
EUS
Capsule Endoscopy
Therapeutic Endoscopic Procedures
Prepare and position patients for procedures while ensuring their comfort and safety.
Monitor and document patients' vital signs during and after procedures under the supervision of the medical team.
Handle biopsy specimens appropriately and ensure correct labeling and documentation.
Perform leak testing, cleaning, high-level disinfection, drying, and storage of endoscopes according to hospital and manufacturer guidelines.
Operate and maintain endoscopy equipment including video processors, monitors, electrosurgical units, suction devices, and accessories.
Maintain procedure logs,



disinfection records, equipment maintenance records, and inventory registers.
Ensure adequate stock of endoscopic accessories and consumables.
Report equipment malfunctions promptly and coordinate with Biomedical Engineering for repairs.
Follow infection prevention, biomedical waste management, and patient safety protocols at all times.
Assist in emergency endoscopic procedures and support the clinical team during complications.
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the endoscopy unit.

Qualifications
Diploma/B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology, Endoscopy Technology, Gastroenterology Technology, or a related Allied Health Science discipline.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
