MUST HAVE EXPOSURE TO PLANT / FACTORY

Position Objective
To manage the end-to-end sourcing and purchasing of raw materials and components specifically for our cable manufacturing plant. In this role, you will be stationed at or deeply integrated with our factory operations. You will balance technical material requirements (polymers, conductors, armoring materials) with commercial realities to ensure zero production downtime while optimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:
Material Sourcing & Procurement: Source and procure specialized cable raw materials including metals (Copper, Aluminum rod), compounding polymers (PVC, XLPE, HDPE, LSZH), armoring materials (GI wire/strip), and taping/packaging materials.
Plant Coordination: Work hand-in-hand with Plant Production, Quality Assurance, and Stores teams to align delivery schedules with the monthly production plan and prevent stock-outs.
Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable domestic and international suppliers. Conduct regular vendor performance audits based on quality, lead time, and pricing compliance.




Cost Optimization & Negotiation: Monitor global and local commodity trends (especially LME/MCX tracking for copper and aluminum). Negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, and annual rate contracts.
Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels at the factory to optimize working capital while maintaining a protected buffer stock of critical raw materials.
Documentation & Compliance: Handle PO creation, goods receipt notes (GRN) verification, and coordinate with finance for vendor payments. Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and quality standards like ISO 9001.

Technical Competencies:
Deep understanding of cable raw materials, grade specifications (e.g., different grades of PVC, XLPE, copper wire rods), and local/international manufacturing standards.
Hands-on experience working with ERP systems (SAP MM module, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
