Job Description MS SQL L1+ Database Administrator (Summary)

Responsible for providing L1+ operational support for MS SQL Server settings, including database monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, and routine administration activities. The role involves proactive health checks, job monitoring, backup verification, performance monitoring, user/access management, and coordination with L2/L3 teams for complex issues. The resource should ensure database availability, follow operational procedures, and support service improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor MS SQL Server instances, alerts, jobs, backups, and database health.
Perform basic troubleshooting of database issues and resolve operational incidents.
Execute database administration tasks such as user management, space monitoring, and maintenance activities.




Analyze alerts and logs to identify potential issues proactively.
Support backup, restore, and recovery activities.
Perform daily health checks and prepare operational reports.
Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and higher-level DBA teams for issue resolution.
Follow change management, incident management, and ITIL operational processes.

Required Skills:
Valuable understanding of MS SQL Server architecture and administration.
Hands-on experience with SQL Server monitoring, backups, jobs, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of SQL queries, performance monitoring, and database maintenance.
Experience in production support and ticket management processes.
