Job Title: Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Operations Head

Reports To : Plant Head

Job Summary

The DGM – Operations Head will lead and oversee all manufacturing operations, ensuring secure, effective, and cost-effective production while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and productivity. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and cross-functional coordination to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day plant operations to ensure production targets are achieved.
Develop and implement production plans aligned with business requirements.
Ensure compliance with GMP (where applicable), EHS, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve productivity, reduce costs, and minimize downtime.
Monitor plant KPIs including OEE, yield, capacity utilization, quality, and production efficiency.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Engineering teams for seamless operations.




Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
Lead process optimization and continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Manage production budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Build, mentor, and develop production teams while fostering a solid safety culture.
Participate in audits and ensure compliance with ISO standards and other applicable regulations.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
12–18 years of experience in chemical manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Preferred Experience
Experience in specialty chemicals, agrochemicals, petrochemicals, paints, or fine chemicals.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Operational Excellence initiatives.
Experience handling statutory inspections and regulatory audits.
