Role & responsibilities
•Manage transportation vendors effectively and ensure seamless coordination for day-to-day operations. Coordinate with vendors and resolve operational issues in a timely manner to prevent disruptions.
•Drive detention reduction initiatives to optimize logistics costs and improve vehicle turnaround. Monitor and provide daily visibility of total pendency volume against orders to ensure timely closure.
•Conduct spot bidding activities to ensure vehicle availability at competitive freight rates.
•Work towards reducing Plant Turnaround Time (TAT) for Dispatch on Time (DoT) performance improvement.
•Deploy LCV trucks in identified markets to improve service levels and transportation efficiency. Ensure adherence to dispatch compliance targets, including 6 PM dispatch compliance for Trade Routes (TR) and 3 PM dispatch compliance for Institutional Sales (IS).
•Enhance asset utilization by improving the operational efficiency of dedicated vehicles and maximizing fleet productivity.
•Ensure timely opening of routes and accurate freight mapping in SAP for smooth transportation planning and execution. Achieve Daily Dispatch (DD) targets against total trade volume commitments.
•Coordinate and execute pre-loading activities to facilitate timely vehicle placement and dispatches.
•Manage end-to-end (E2E) transportation operations to ensure seamless movement of goods from origin to destination. Plan and coordinate packer deployment to support productive loading and dispatch operations.
•Resolve DO-shift personnel issues and address operational challenges to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
•Ensure timely completion and tracking of Electronic Proof of Delivery (ePOD) for all dispatched shipments. Drive compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and transportation safety standards across operations.
