Job Summary
The General Manager Projects will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, and
delivery of manufacturing/infrastructure projects (e.g., solar cell/module lines, BESS
manufacturing facilities) from contract award through commissioning and handover. The role
ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specified quality and safety
standards, while managing cross-functional teams, vendors, and client relationships.
Key Responsibility
Lead end-to-end project planning, scheduling, execution, and monitoring for assigned
projects (engineering, procurement, construction/installation, commissioning)
Develop detailed project plans, Gantt charts, milestones, and resource allocation in
coordination with engineering, procurement, and execution teams
Monitor project progress against schedule, budget, and quality benchmarks; proactively
identify and mitigate risks and delays
Coordinate with clients, consultants, and EPC contractors on technical, commercial, and
contractual matters
Oversee procurement and logistics coordination for project-critical equipment and
materials, ensuring timely delivery
Manage site execution teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to
project plans, safety standards, and quality protocols
Review and manage project budgets, cost control,



and variance analysis; report on
CAPEX utilization
Lead contract administration including review of POs, change orders, claims, and
dispute resolution in coordination with legal/commercial teams
Ensure compliance with statutory, safety (EHS), and quality (QA/QC) requirements
throughout project lifecycle
Coordinate factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), installation,
commissioning, and performance testing
Manage project documentation including DPRs, progress reports, MOMs, and handover
documentation
Liaise with government agencies/regulatory bodies for approvals, clearances, and
incentive scheme compliance (PLI, ALMM, BIS, etc.)
Build and lead a high-performing project management team; mentor project
managers/engineers
Provide regular project status reports, dashboards, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders
Drive lessons-learned reviews and continuous improvement in project execution processes
Key Requirements
Education
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related); MBA/PMP
certification preferred
Experience
10-15 years of experience in project management within manufacturing, EPC,
solar/renewable energy, or industrial infrastructure sectors,



with at least 3-5 years in a
leadership/GM role
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP/PMI, Agile as applicable)
Proven track record of delivering large-scale manufacturing/infrastructure projects on
time and within budget
Strong commercial and contractual acumen (EPC contracts, POs, claims, variations)
Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
Robust leadership, team management, and stakeholder management skills
Knowledge of solar manufacturing technologies (TOPCon, PERC, HJT), BESS/LFP
systems, or related industrial processes is highly preferred
Familiarity with Indian regulatory and incentive frameworks (PLI-ACC, ALMM, BIS, IREDA, VGF)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Other Requirements
Willingness to travel extensively to project sites, including domestic and international locations as required
Fluent in English; knowledge of additional regional languages is preferred
