About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Agronomist to lead and scale an open-field farming operation in Chaksu, Jaipur from the ground up .
This is an opportunity to be part of the farm's early growth phase, where you'll take ownership of crop planning, field execution, and productivity improvements.
The role is ideal for someone passionate about vegetable and field crop cultivation, with practical experience in building efficient farming systems and improving yields.
Key Responsibilities
Crop Planning & Farm Operations
Plan and execute seasonal cultivation of vegetables and field crops.
Develop crop calendars based on local climate, soil conditions, and market demand.
Oversee land preparation, sowing, irrigation, fertilisation, and harvesting activities.
Monitor crop health and implement integrated pest and disease management practices.
Improve soil fertility through appropriate nutrient and soil management strategies.
Optimise water usage and farming practices to maximise productivity and profitability.
Supervise daily farm operations and coordinate with field workers to ensure timely execution.
Farm Development & Scaling
Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cultivation and farm management.
Identify opportunities to improve yield, quality, and operational efficiency.
Introduce up-to-date agronomic practices and support the expansion of the farming operation.
Maintain records of crop performance, inputs, and production data for continuous improvement.
Requirements
B.
Sc. / M.
Sc. in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in open-field farming, vegetable cultivation, or commercial crop production.
Strong understanding of crop planning, irrigation, soil health, and pest management.
Experience managing farm labour and day-to-day field operations.
Self-driven, practical, and comfortable working extensively on-site.
Based in Jaipur or willing to relocate to Chaksu.
