About TrueFoundryEvery production AI system, whether it's powering customer support, writing code, analyzing financial data, or diagnosing medical conditions, needs the same foundational infrastructure. A way to route between models. A way to manage tools and integrate them securely. A way to orchestrate agents and enforce governance. A unified compute layer to run it all.That infrastructure layer is being built right now.We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our Finance team.The Problem We're SolvingCompanies are moving beyond straightforward chatbots to production agentic systems. These systems route between OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and self-hosted models. They integrate dozens of tools via protocols like MCP. They orchestrate multi-agent workflows where agents coordinate with other agents. The infrastructure to support this doesn't exist yet. You can't just duct-tape together a few API calls and call it production-ready.You need a control plane that handles:Intelligent routing with observability, cost policies, and fallback logicCentralized tool and MCP server management with security and lifecycle controlsAgent orchestration with governance and guardrailsA unified compute layer to run self-hosted models, custom tools, and agentsAI Gateway is the control plane of five composable components (Prompts, LLM Gateway, MCP Gateway, Guardrails, Agent Gateway) that handle routing, orchestration, and governance.We're Series A, backed by Intel Capital and Sequoia. Companies like CVS, Mastercard, Siemens, Paytm, Synopsys, and Zscaler run production AI workloads on our platform.About role:This is a foundational hire. TrueFoundry is building its finance function for the first time and the Finance Controller will be the operational backbone of that function.You will work directly with the Director Finance and the founding team to establish the financial infrastructure, processes, and controls that will take the company through its Series B and beyond.This role is for someone who has been in the room before, has built processes from scratch at a fast-moving startup, implemented ERP systems, managed cross-border compliance across India and the US, and closed books cleanly every single month regardless of how much else was happening. high-impact role designed for an engineer who loves combining world-class systems thinking with real-world execution.What you will do:Controllership & Monthly CloseOwn end-to-end monthly close for India and US entities with zero surprises.Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset register across both entitiesEnsure full compliance with Ind AS for the India entity and US GAAP for the US entityManage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidated reporting across Ensemble Labs Inc (US) and Ensemble Labs Private Limited (India)Prepare audit-ready financials and serve as the primary point of contact for statutory auditorsBuild and document accounting policies, internal controls, and approval workflows from scratchERP Implementation & Finance SystemsLead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of the finance technology stack like ERP (NetSuite, Zoho Books, or equivalent), billing (Chargebee, Stripe), payroll (Gusto, Deel), expense management(Brex, Ramp), and FP&A; toolingBuild the quote-to-cash process: clean invoicing, collections, and DSO management from day oneImplement ASC 606 / Ind AS 115 compliant revenue recognition for SaaS contracts including deferredrevenue and ARR hygieneSet up spend controls, procurement policies, and card programs that scale with headcount growthSupport SOC 2 evidence collection for finance-related processes and controls.Statutory Compliance & TaxOwn all India statutory compliance, GST filing and reconciliation (including OIDAR obligations), TDS deduction and remittance, ROC filings, and transfer pricing documentation between entitiesManage US compliance, federal and state tax filings, Delaware franchise tax, sales tax nexus monitoring, and R&D; tax credit claims under IRC Section 41Handle cross-border compliance including withholding tax on payments to foreign vendors and partners, DTAA planning, and permanent establishment risk managementAdminister ESOP and cap table on Carta grants, exercises, 409A valuations, Form 3921,



and India ESOP compliance under FEMA and Income Tax ActRun US and India payroll with vendors, ensuring statutory compliance across both jurisdictionsTreasury & Cash ManagementOwn banking relationships, FX management, and intercompany settlements between India and US entitiesManage accounts payable, vendor onboarding, and procurement, ensuring clean audit trailsOptimise cash yield and manage liquidity forecasting, keeping the leadership team informed on runway at all timesWho You Are:CA or CPA qualification; Big 4 or top-tier audit background strongly preferred8 to 10 years of finance experience with a minimum of 4 years in a fast-paced startup or high-growth technology companyDemonstrable experience scaling a finance function: you have built processes, implemented controls, and set up systems where none existed beforeHands-on ERP implementation experience you have led or been central to at least one ERP rollout (NetSuite, Zoho Books, Tally, or equivalent)Strong working knowledge of both Ind AS and US GAAP; multi-entity consolidation is familiar territoryDeep understanding of Indian statutory compliance: GST, TDS, ROC, transfer pricing — and US compliance including federal tax, Delaware, and R&D; creditsExperience working directly with statutory auditors; you have owned the audit process, not just supported itFluency with SaaS metrics and revenue recognition under ASC 606 / Ind AS 115Good to haveExperience with ESOP administration and cap table management on Carta or equivalentWorking knowledge of cross-border tax compliance DTAA, FEMA, OIDAR, withholding tax on foreign paymentsFamiliarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or enterprise security review processesExposure to US R&D; credit claims and India GST refund processesExperience in an AI, infrastructure, SaaS, or developer tools companyComfort with BI tools and financial modelling beyond standard accounting softwarePerks of Working at TrueFoundryJoin a fast-growing Series A, Bay Area-based startup building cutting-edge AI infrastructure.Comprehensive health insurance for you and your family.Flexible hybrid work, 3 days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), with flexibility around the schedule.Lunch and snacks are on us whenever you come into the office.Work from another TrueFoundry office for up to 3 months each year, whether that's our London or Bay Area office, if you'd like a change of scenery.
