Position Overview

This is an end-to-end grant writing role for someone with proven experience securing grants in Canada (and ideally North America). You will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, preparing compelling grant applications, coordinating supporting documents, and ensuring every submission is completed accurately and on time.

We're looking for someone who is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable using modern AI tools to maximize productivity and improve the quality of grant applications.

Responsibilities

- Research and identify relevant grant opportunities across Canada and North America.
- Monitor upcoming grant deadlines and maintain a grant application calendar.
- Analyze grant eligibility and funding requirements.
- Prepare, write, edit, and submit compelling grant applications.
- Gather and coordinate supporting documentation required for submissions.
- Work closely with the founder to collect business information and financial data.
- Tailor applications to maximize funding success.
- Use AI tools such as Claude, Perplexity, and other productivity tools for research, drafting, refinement, and document preparation.
- Maintain an organized database of grants, application status, deadlines, submitted documents, and outcomes.
- Follow up with funding organizations when required.
- Prepare reports and provide daily progress updates to the company owner.
- Continuously identify new funding opportunities as they become available.

Requirements

- Proven experience writing successful grant applications in Canada.
- Experience with Canadian government grants, innovation grants, startup funding, healthcare grants, or technology grants.
- Strong English writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Excellent research and analytical abilities.




- Highly organized with solid project management skills.
- Experience managing multiple grant applications simultaneously.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Strong experience using AI tools including Claude, Perplexity, ChatGPT, and similar platforms to improve research, writing, and productivity.
- Ability to manage the complete grant lifecycle from opportunity identification to final submission.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience writing grants for technology startups, SaaS companies, healthcare, or innovation businesses.
- Experience with Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal funding programs.
- Track record of successful grant approvals.
- Knowledge of Canadian startup ecosystem and funding landscape.
