Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

Experience : 18–20+ Years

Industry Preference: Mandatory experience from Steel Manufacturing Industry only.

Location: Kolkata

Age: within 53 Years

Reporting To: CFO / Director Finance

Role Overview

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the overall financial control, accounting governance and commercial finance operations of the organization. The role requires strong expertise in financial reporting, debtor & creditor management, MIS, balance sheet finalization, profitability analysis and commercial accounting within a large-scale steel manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Overseeing end-to-end Financial Control and Accounting operations for the organization.
- Managing and reviewing Debtors, Creditors and Ageing Analysis with strong control over receivables and payables.
- Ensuring accurate preparation and finalization of Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account and Financial Statements.
- Leading monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities in compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Monitoring commercial accounting activities including sales accounting, purchase accounting, inventory accounting and cost controls.
- Preparing and reviewing Management Information System (MIS) reports for senior management decision-making.
- Conducting financial analysis, profitability assessment and variance analysis across business operations.




- Ensuring proper reconciliation of ledgers, bank accounts, inter-company transactions and vendor/customer accounts.
- Driving strong internal financial controls, accounting governance and compliance mechanisms.
- Coordinating with Statutory Auditors, Internal Auditors, Banks and Financial Institutions.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, working capital and cash flow monitoring.
- Ensuring compliance with GST, taxation, accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting senior leadership in strategic financial planning and business performance monitoring.
- Leading and mentoring Finance & Accounts teams across operational and commercial accounting functions.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong exposure in Financial Controlling within Steel Manufacturing industry.
- Thorough knowledge of Debtors, Creditors, Ageing Analysis, Commercial Accounting and Financial Reporting.
- Expertise in Balance Sheet finalization, P&L; preparation and MIS reporting.
- Strong understanding of Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Working Capital Management.
- Hands-on experience in ERP / SAP workplace.
- Strong analytical, leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- High level of commercial acumen and financial governance orientation.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Qualified CA with stable career progression in reputed Steel Manufacturing organizations.
- Experience in handling large-scale manufacturing finance operations.
- Strong leadership capability with ability to work closely with CFO and senior management.
