Role & responsibilities

Product Strategy & Leadership

- Define and own the solar kit product roadmap (on-grid, off-grid, hybrid, storage-integrated systems) aligned with business growth and market needs
- Lead the transition from custom system designs to standardised, scalable, and modular solar kits
- Drive product differentiation through innovation, cost leadership, ease of installation, and reliability

Product Development & Engineering

- Oversee design and standardization of solar kits including modules, inverters, BOS, mounting structures, cabling, and accessories
- Approve kit configurations, technical specifications, BOMs, and capacity-wise offerings
- Ensure optimization across cost, performance, reliability, packaging, and logistics
- Guide prototype development, field trials, validation testing, and design freeze processes

Compliance & Quality

- Ensure all products meet MNRE, BIS, IEC, DISCOM, PM Surya Ghar, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Establish quality benchmarks, design validation protocols, and continuous improvement processes
- Analyze field failures, warranty data, and installer feedback to enhance product robustness

Supplier & Ecosystem Management

- Lead supplier selection, component validation, and strategic partnerships




- Drive localization and Make-in-India initiatives for cost and supply-chain resilience
- Work closely with Procurement and Manufacturing for scalability and cost control

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Channel teams to support product launches, positioning, and training
- Provide technical direction for pre-sales support, demos, and large prospect customization
- Align with Operations and Service teams to simplify installation and reduce post-installation issues

Team Management

- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Product Development & Engineering team
- Establish clear KPIs, development processes, and documentation standards

Preferred candidate profile

- Bachelors degree in Electrical / Renewable Energy Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 10–15 years of experience in solar product development, system engineering, or kit-based solutions
- Robust expertise in solar PV systems, inverters, BOS, system sizing, and storage integration
- Deep understanding of Indian solar policies, net-metering, and safety standards
- Experience leading cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams
- Proficiency with tools such as PVsyst, AutoCAD, Excel, and product lifecycle tools
