Role & responsibilities:

Datacentre Engineering Lead

- Lead implementation and refresh of Data Center infrastructure including HP Blade, Cisco UCS, VMware, Windows Server, and Linux platforms
- Own DC and DR architecture for servers, virtualization, and operating systems
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise distributions like RHEL, Ubuntu, and Amazon Linux.
- Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting to automate system provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and hardware break-fix procedures
- Plan and execute firmware, OS, and platform upgrades with minimal downtime
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and capacity planning across sites
- Coordinate with Network, Storage, Security, and Application teams during deployments
- Maintain asset inventory, configuration management, and lifecycle tracking
- Drive disaster recovery planning and execute DR drills as per approved schedules
- Ensure compliance with internal audits, external audits, and security benchmarks
- Approve SOPs, architecture documents, change records, and technical runbooks
- Act as technical escalation point for DC infrastructure incidents

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Work closely with Operations and BU stakeholders to understand, define, and deliver IT solutions aligned to business needs.

Proactively liaise with internal departments to ensure seamless IT support.

Manage relationships with software and hardware vendors to ensure reliable, cost-effective service delivery.

Prepare and maintain escalation matrices for site-level IT operations.

Budget & Resource Management

Prepare and manage IT budgets in consultation with BU Site IT Managers and Central IT teams.





Monitor IT expenses and ensure conformance to approved budgets.

Support procurement activities including preparation of purchase requests for IT assets and services.

Monitor and drive efficiency and performance of BU IT teams.

Leadership & Reporting

Mentor and guide L1/L2 engineers.

Create and maintain high-level design (HLD) and low-level design (LLD) documents.

Provide technical leadership during audits and major projects.

Provide direction and guidance to site IT teams, driving service improvement and operational excellence.

Host, organize, and attend BU HOD meetings and audits related to IT service delivery.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Director IT.

Architecture & Strategy

Define Datacentre , Identity Management , Cloud & Enterprise Infrastructure roadmaps and standards.

Evaluate and recommend recent technologies and vendors.

Support cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Preferred candidate profile

1. Data Center architecture and implementation leadership.

2. Working knowledge Linux / Unix SME.

3. Virtualization ,VMware vSphere, HA, DRS, vMotion.

4. Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Linux administration.

5. Storage and Backup understanding.

6. Cisco UCS, HP Blade systems, Dell Blade Systems.

7. Tool Landscape management.

8. DR planning and execution.

9. Strong documentation and change governance discipline

10. Stakeholder coordination and execution ownership.

11. Strong troubleshooting and RCA skills
