Role & responsibilities

1. Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Azure Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services on Microsoft Azure. The role involves ensuring high availability, scalability, security, and performance of cloud-based solutions while supporting enterprise workloads.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure services, cloud architecture, automation, and DevOps practices, along with a solid understanding of infrastructure and security best practices.

2. Key Responsibilities

2.1 Azure Infrastructure Management

- Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure including compute, storage, and networking resources.
- Administer Azure services such as:
- Virtual Machines (VMs)
- Virtual Networks (VNet)
- Storage Accounts
- Azure App Services

- Manage subscriptions, resource groups, and role-based access controls (RBAC).

2.2 Monitoring & Performance Optimization

- Monitor cloud environments using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Analyze system performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
- Ensure capacity planning and cost optimization of Azure resources.

2.3 Security & Compliance

- Implement and manage Azure Security controls including:
- Azure AD (Identity & Access Management)
- Network Security Groups (NSG)
- Azure Firewall and Security Center

- Ensure adherence to organizational security and compliance standards.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and implement recommendations.

2.4 Automation & DevOps Integration

- Develop and manage infrastructure as code using:
- ARM Templates / Bicep / Terraform

- Automate deployments and operations using:

- Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
- PowerShell / Azure CLI scripts

- Support DevOps practices for continuous integration and delivery.





2.5 Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

- Configure and manage Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
- Ensure implementation of DR strategies and periodic testing.
- Maintain data protection, retention, and recovery processes.

2.6 Incident, Problem & Change Management

- Troubleshoot issues related to Azure services, applications, and infrastructure.
- Participate in incident management and root cause analysis.
- Follow ITIL processes for change, problem, and incident management.

2.7 Hybrid & Multi-Platform Support

- Support hybrid cloud environments integrating on-premise infrastructure with Azure.
- Work with Windows/Linux workloads running in Azure.
- Collaborate with networking, security, and application teams.

Identity & Security

- Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall
- Azure Security Center / Defender for Cloud

Automation & DevOps

- Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / ARM / Bicep)
- Scripting: PowerShell / Azure CLI

Backup & DR

- Azure Backup
- Azure Site Recovery (ASR)

Operating Systems

- Windows Server administration
- Linux basics (troubleshooting and operations)

Networking

- Virtual Networks (VNet), Subnets
- VPN Gateway / ExpressRoute (basic understanding)
- Load Balancers and Application Gateways

4. Qualifications & Experience

- Education:
- Bachelors Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science / IT or equivalent
- Diploma / Graduate (relevant experience considered)

- Experience:

- 4- 8 years in IT Infrastructure / Cloud Operations
- 25 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure
