Job Title: Senior Data Support Engineer

Location: Hyderabad Office (Manikonda)

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Budget: 90,000 per month

The Senior Data Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of the organization s data systems, pipelines, and databases. This role requires advanced technical expertise in troubleshooting, optimizing data workflows, and supporting stakeholders across the business. The engineer will work closely with internal teams to resolve complex data issues, implement performance improvements, and enhance support automation.

Key Result Areas:

Data Support Troubleshooting:

- Provide L0 L3 level support for data-related issues, including pipeline failures, data quality, and system performance.
- Debug and resolve ETL/ELT workflows, SQL queries, and data integration issues.

Performance Optimization:

- Analyze and improve query performance and data model efficiency.
- Work on Hadoop-based platforms to optimize storage and processing.
- Implement data governance and security best practices.

Automation Tooling:

- Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Enhance monitoring, alerting, and logging tools.
- Create runbooks and documentation for recurring support issues.

Collaboration:

- Work with Data Engineers, Analysts, DevOps, and other technical teams to improve infrastructure and operations.
- Participate in Agile practices including daily scrums and sprint planning.
- Provide support during shifts and weekends on a rotational basis.

Continuous Improvement:

- Keep abreast of evolving data technologies and platforms.
- Recommend improvements to enhance data support effectiveness.

5. Operating Setting, Framework, and Working Relationships:





- Works in a hybrid data infrastructure environment (on-prem and cloud).
- Reports directly to the Data Engineering Lead or IT Infrastructure Manager.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams including Business Intelligence, DevOps, and Cloud Architecture.

6. Problem Solving:

- Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues.
- Analyze performance issues and proactively identify optimization opportunities.
- Work under pressure to meet tight SLAs and resolve high-priority incidents.

7. Decision Making Authority Responsibility:

- Has the autonomy to make technical decisions related to data issue resolution and optimization.
- Recommends improvements to data processes, tooling, and monitoring systems.
- Escalates major incidents or design issues as necessary to senior leadership.

8. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Mandatory Skills:

- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Support.
- Advanced SQL skills including query tuning and indexing.
- Proficient in Python and Shell scripting.
- Solid knowledge of data warehousing concepts (e.g., star schema, partitioning).
- Familiarity with system monitoring and incident response tools.

Desirable Skills:

- Exposure to ETL tools such as Informatica.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
- Strong analytical and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Certifications such as Azure Data Engineer, AWS Data Analytics, or equivalent are a plus.
