Role & responsibilities

Conducting exploratory data analysis and data pre-processing to identify trends, patterns, and outliers in the data.

- Developing and implementing predictive models using machine learning techniques to forecast crop yields, weather events, and other risk factors that impact our business.

- Support other departments in developing and implementing machine learning models for their functions like claims processing, financial projections etc.

- Supporting the development and maintenance of databases, data pipelines, and data visualization tools.

- Automation of data flows, financial reporting and business processes.

- Contributing to the development of best practices in data analysis, modelling, and visualization.

- Creating reports and presentations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Supporting the Appointed Actuary to conduct actuarial analyses,



pricing and reserve calculations.

- Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and techniques in data science and related fields.

Requirements

- Strong knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and machine learning techniques.

- Proficient in programming languages such as SQL, Python or R.

- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or ggplot.

- Ability to work with large datasets.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Robust communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.

- Knowledge of GIS tools or experience in analysing geospatial data.

- Experience working in the insurance industry or with actuarial models will be preferred.
