About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Java Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend development, cloud technologies, and contemporary software engineering practices, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development

- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based backend applications.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code following best practices.
- Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

System Design & Architecture

- Contribute to application design, architecture, and technical decision-making.
- Implement scalable and reliable solutions with fault tolerance and high availability.
- Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality standards.
- Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability.

Cloud & Contemporary Engineering Practices

- Develop and deploy applications in cloud environments (GCP/AWS/Azure).
- Work with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Build applications aligned with cloud-native principles.
- Support modernization initiatives and adoption of new technologies.

DevOps & Operations

- Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployments.
- Collaborate with teams on monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
- Debug and resolve production issues in distributed systems.




- Follow best practices in automation and infrastructure management.

Collaboration & Quality

- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables.
- Maintain high coding standards and ensure quality through testing.
- Contribute to documentation, including technical designs and runbooks.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills

- Strong experience in Java and Spring Boot development.
- Hands-on experience with backend systems, APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.

Cloud & DevOps

- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, Git workflows, and automation.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar) is a plus.

Data & Integration

- Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging systems.

Nice to Have

- Exposure to frontend technologies such as React or Angular.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Familiarity with Big Data or distributed systems concepts.

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
