Role & responsibilities

Purpose of the Role

To ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements, ISO standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements through effective planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up of internal audits. The role drives continual improvement, risk reduction, and process effectiveness across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Internal Audit Management

Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits as per annual audit program.

Verify compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, SOPs, and company procedures.

Perform process-based and risk-based audits.

Prepare audit checklists, audit reports, and audit summaries.

Ensure audit findings are objectively documented.

2. Non-Conformance (NC) Management

Identify and classify audit findings (Critical, Major, Minor, Observation).

Verify root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone Analysis.

Review and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Track NC closure within defined timelines.

Verify effectiveness of implemented actions.

3. QMS Compliance & Documentation

Ensure implementation and maintenance of QMS documentation.

Review SOPs, Work Instructions, OPLs (One Point Lessons), formats, and records.

Verify document control practices.

Support revision and standardization of procedures.

4. Risk-Based Thinking

Evaluate process risks and opportunities.

Participate in risk assessment activities.

Ensure risk controls are implemented and effective.





Promote preventive actions to avoid recurring issues.

5. Continuous Improvement

Promote PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology.

Identify opportunities for process improvement.

Support Kaizen, Lean, and quality improvement initiatives.

Monitor QMS KPIs and improvement projects.

6. Health, Safety & Compliance Audits

Assess compliance with Health & Safety requirements.

Identify unsafe conditions and practices.

Classify findings based on risk severity.

Recommend corrective actions for safety improvements.

7. Training & Awareness

Conduct awareness sessions on QMS requirements.

Train employees on SOPs, audit readiness, CAPA, and ISO requirements.

Support development of internal auditor competency.

8. External Audit Support

Coordinate with certification bodies and customer auditors.

Support external audits and surveillance audits.

Provide required records and evidence.

Monitor closure of external audit findings.

- Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field.

Internal Auditor Certification (ISO 9001 preferred).

Lead Auditor Certification (preferred).
