Job Summary

The AI Software Engineer designs, builds, and supports production AI capabilities for a regulated-industry platform using Microsoft s AI ecosystem and up-to-date Dot Net engineering practices

This role architects agent systems, retrieval-augmented generation solutions, and semantic retrieval infrastructure that enable high-quality, measurable, and secure AI outcomes

The position develops production applications in C# and Dot Net 8+, creates evaluation frameworks for model and retrieval performance, and partners closely with tax professionals to translate domain requirements into practical AI solutions

This role also advances responsible AI practices through content filtering, PII handling, audit logging, output verification, and secure platform design within Azure-based environments

Job Duties

- Design and build agent systems using Microsoft AI technologies, including Semantic Kernel, Microsoft

Extensions

AI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and Model Context Protocol integrations

- Develop AI solutions that traverse ownership structures, answer tax-context questions, and support document-centered workflows

- Architect and maintain retrieval-augmented generation infrastructure, including chunking strategies, embedding selection, retrieval evaluation, and Azure AI Search configuration

- Develop hybrid retrieval patterns that combine vector search with structured queries against operational data stores

- Write, test, deploy, and maintain production code in C# and Dot Net 8+

- Build and enhance evaluation frameworks, including offline evaluation suites, golden datasets, and production monitoring for agent quality and retrieval performance

- Partner with tax professionals and business stakeholders to define domain requirements and translate those requirements into scalable AI solutions

- Implement responsible AI controls, including content filtering, PII handling, audit logging, output verification, and platform security boundaries

- Develop and support Azure-based application components using App Service, Functions, Container Apps, Service Bus, Key Vault, and managed identities

- Design and optimize SQL Server and Azure SQL data access patterns that support AI and application workloads





- Contribute to front-end integration efforts using React or Angular as needed for AI-enabled user experiences

- Document technical designs, implementation patterns, and operational support procedures

- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify risks, resolve technical issues, and improve platform reliability and performance

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

Education

- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Data Science, required

Experience

- Four (4) or more years of software engineering experience, required

- Three (3) or more years of recent experience developing applications with Python, C#, or Dot Net, required

- Production experience using C# and Dot Net 8+ in enterprise applications, required

- Production experience in Microsoft Azure, including App Service, Functions, Container Apps, Service Bus, Key Vault, and managed identities, required

- Experience with SQL Server and Azure SQL in production environments, required

- Experience with React or Angular, required

- Production experience with Azure OpenAI Service, including model deployment, content filter configuration, and responsible AI controls, required

- Experience designing and implementing retrieval-augmented generation solutions in production environments, required

- Experience using Semantic Kernel, Microsoft

Extensions

AI, and Azure AI Foundry in production or enterprise solution development, required

- Experience in designing and deploying agent-based AI workflows in production environments, required
