Position Summary
We are seeking a Lead Controls & Electrical Engineer to oversee our automation systems, manage our electrical controls team, and serve as the technical anchor for plant audits. You will be responsible for end-to-end automation executionfrom designing electrical schematics and programming PLC/SCADA systems to managing a team of technicians and engineers. Critically, you will own the automation compliance documentation required for strict bearing industry quality audits (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, AS9100).

Core Responsibilities

1. Engineering & Programming (PLC / SCADA / Electrical)

- Design and modify machine electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN according to safety standards (NFPA 79 / CE).
- Develop and optimize complex PLC programs (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) for high-precision grinding, assembly, and gauging lines.
- Architect plant-wide SCADA layers (Ignition, WinCC, or FactoryTalk) to track machine performance, OEE, and part-level data logging.

2. Team Leadership & Project Management

- Supervise, mentor, and assign daily tasks to a team of controls engineers, electrical technicians, and maintenance staff.
- Manage capital expenditure (CAPEX) automation projects from budgeting and vendor selection through execution.
- Lead root-cause analysis during major machine breakdowns to minimize production line downtime.

Audit Compliance & Quality Documentation

- Traceability Integration: Ensure PLC/SCADA systems flawlessly push critical data parameters (e.g., grinding force, spindle speed, final tolerances) to the MES/SQL database for 100% bearing serialization tracing.
- Audit Readiness: Maintain impeccable, audit-ready engineering records, including updated electrical schematics, software version control logs (change management), and safety validation certificates.
- SOPs & Calibration: Author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for automation systems and manage calibration verification logs for precision measurement sensors, vision cameras, and LVDT gauging loops.

Experience: 4-10 years of experience in electrical design and PLC/SCADA programming, with at least 2 years in a senior, lead, or supervisory capacity.

Industry Background: High-volume precision manufacturing mandatory (Bearings, Automotive Tier-1, Precision CNC Machining).

Audit Familiarity: Direct experience supporting IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 audits, specifically explaining software logic change logs and sensor data integrity to external auditors.

Software Tools:

- PLC: Siemens S7-1500/1200 or Allen-Bradley ControlLogix.
- SCADA: Ignition, FactoryTalk View SE, or WinCC.
- Electrical CAD: AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
