About the Role

The Robot Electronics Technician will be responsible for the electronic assembly, sensor installation, wiring, deployment, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of ERIC Robotics robotic systems at company and project locations.

This is a hands - on, field - based role requiring frequent travel, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to resolve electrical, electronic, sensor, wiring, power, and communication - related issues under actual operating conditions. The technician will ensure that robotic systems are electronically secure, reliable, correctly integrated, and ready for deployment.

Key Responsibilities

- Electronics Assembly and Deployment
- Install, remove, replace, assemble, and disassemble sensors, electronic components, controllers, power devices, and communication equipment.
- Perform cable routing, crimping, soldering, wire termination, labelling, bundling, clamping, and protective sleeving.
- Verify connector orientation, pin configuration, polarity, supply voltage, grounding, shielding, and communication connections.
- Support safe loading, unloading, packing, setup, and transportation of electronic equipment.

- Sensor Installation and Integration

- Install cameras, LiDARs, laser profilers, encoders, IMUs, GPS/GNSS systems, proximity sensors, and other sensing devices.
- Ensure correct sensor mounting, orientation, alignment, field of view, power supply, cable connection, and communication readiness.
- Support basic sensor configuration, calibration, and validation as per approved procedures.
- Coordinate with the Mechanical Team for sensor brackets, enclosures, mounting, and protection.

- On - Site Testing and Validation

- Support field trials, demonstrations, pilot deployments, and customer - site testing.
- Conduct pre - test and post - test inspections of sensors, wiring, power systems, connectors, and communication devices.




- Monitor voltage, current, temperature, signal stability, sensor status, communication connectivity, and data availability.
- Perform continuity, polarity, grounding, voltage, connector, and communication checks.
- Record observations, measurements, errors, photographs, videos, logs, and test results.

- Troubleshooting and Maintenance

- Identify and resolve issues related to sensors, wiring, connectors, power supply, grounding, signal loss, communication failure, overheating, and voltage fluctuations.
- Use multimeters, continuity testers, power supplies, soldering equipment, crimping tools, and network tools for troubleshooting.
- Perform cable repairs, connector replacement, re - crimping, soldering, wiring corrections, and component replacement.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Retest the robot after corrective action and confirm system readiness.

- Cross - Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Electronics, Mechanical, Software, ROS, DevOps, Manufacturing, Operations, and Project teams.
- Work with the Software and ROS teams to verify sensor detection, network connectivity, device configuration, and data availability.
- Clearly communicate issues, measurements, observations, corrective actions, and test results.
- Escalate critical or unresolved concerns to the respective Team Lead or Manager.

- Team Support

- Support technicians, operators, helpers, and team members during electronics assembly, wiring, testing, maintenance, and deployment.




- Follow instructions provided by the Team Lead, Deployment Engineer, or Project Manager.
- Ensure proper handling of tools, sensors, electronic components, and test equipment.
- Ensure that no unauthorised wiring, component, or configuration changes are made.

- Documentation and SOP Compliance

- Follow approved deployment SOPs, wiring diagrams, sensor installation procedures, calibration procedures, testing checklists, maintenance schedules, and safety instructions.
- Complete electronics assembly records, wiring inspection reports, sensor installation records, calibration records, maintenance logs, issue reports, and daily activity reports.
- Document temporary wiring changes, cable repairs, connector replacements, sensor configurations, and corrective actions.
- Report missing, outdated, incorrect, or impractical procedures to the respective Team Lead or Manager.

- Safety and Site Compliance

- Follow ERIC Robotics and customer - site electrical and electronic safety requirements.
- Use appropriate PPE and follow safe electrical handling practices.
- Isolate power before connecting, disconnecting, repairing, or modifying components.
- Follow approved battery - handling, ESD - protection, grounding, emergency - stop, and power - isolation procedures.
- Stop and report any activity that may create a risk to personnel, equipment, the robot, or the site.

Requirements

- Educational Qualification
- ITI, Diploma, or Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechat
