Overview
Come join us as a Staff Software Engineer – iOS on the AppFabric Mobile team, where you'll help build the platform powering the mobile experience for 20+ Intuit apps — including QuickBooks, TurboTax, and Credit Karma. AppFabric Mobile gives every mobile team at Intuit a shared foundation for auth, shell, navigation, and device capabilities, freeing product teams to focus on customers instead of plumbing.
We're reimagining that foundation for an agentic, AI-native era — paved-road tooling that scaffolds features end-to-end, Agent Chat woven into the runtime, and a push toward 3x developer productivity through true agent-driven development. You'll help push webview and native performance toward sub-5-second load times at scale, working in Swift/SwiftUI alongside Android, backend, and product partners across the mobile ecosystem.
This role is for an engineer who loves owning hard problems end-to-end, who's energized by building platform rather than just features, and who wants their code quietly showing up in the pockets of tens of millions of customers every day.
Responsibilities
- Design and build high-quality, performant iOS features using Swift/SwiftUI, from architecture through shipping.
- Own initiatives end-to-end — from customer insight and prototyping to production release and post-launch iteration.
- Drive AI-powered iOS experiences, integrating AI capabilities into mobile features and evaluating their real-world impact.
- Write clean, well-tested code with strong unit test coverage, upholding TDD practices.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and backend engineering to translate customer needs into polished mobile solutions.
- Act as a technical mentor for the iOS community, raising the bar on code quality, architecture, and best practices.
- Stay ahead of iOS and mobile-AI trends, bringing new tools, patterns, and techniques into the team's practice.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of skilled experience with expertise in developing,
maintaining, and innovating large-scale, consumer-facing mobile applications.
- Expertise in modern mobile technologies, with specific deep experience in iOS (e.g., Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit) development, with some exposure to Android (e.g., Kotlin, Jetpack Compose).
- Experience in the Software design/architecture process.
- Experience in the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with web services (consuming or creating) with REST or SOAP.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to different audiences.
- Familiarity with the development challenges that come with highly scalable and available web applications.
- Experience with unit testing and Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Proficient in building or integrating functional AI models using techniques such as LLM prompting, AutoML modeling, etc.
- Skilled in evaluating and monitoring the performance of AI technology in production and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal application performance.
- Possesses an in-depth understanding of AI integration and can lead the integration process effectively, while coaching junior engineers on how to leverage AI.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and software engineers.
- Prior working experience in a cloud computing environment like AWS/GCP is highly desired.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related area.
