Job Description – Press & Moulding Machine Operator

Position: Press & Moulding Machine Operator

Job Purpose

To operate and monitor press and moulding machines for the manufacturing of

moulded carpet products as per approved product specifications, production

plans, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor hydraulic, pneumatic, and other press and moulding machines used for carpet product manufacturing.
- Set and adjust machine parameters as per product specifications and approved process requirements.
- Ensure proper placement and positioning of carpet material, moulds, inserts, and other components before starting the moulding process.
- Control and monitor key process parameters, including:
- Pressing pressure
- Moulding temperature
- Heating and cooling time
- Pressing cycle time
- Product thickness
- Product dimensions
- Ensure proper moulding and forming of carpet products as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Check the product during and after the moulding process for defects such as:
- Improper moulding
- Wrinkles
- Cracks
- Deformation
- Uneven thickness
- Dimension variation
- Surface defects
- Improper trimming
- Ensure correct mould loading and unloading procedures.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic inspection of the press and moulding machine.
- Check the condition of moulds, heating systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, sensors, and other machine components.
- Report machine breakdowns, abnormal noise, leakage, process deviations, or unsafe conditions to the Production In-Charge and Maintenance Department.
- Ensure proper changeover and cleaning of moulds and machines between different products.
- Minimize material wastage and ensure optimum utilization of raw materials.
- Maintain production records, machine parameters, rejection details, and shift reports.




- Ensure proper identification and traceability of production lots.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for inspection and approval of moulded products.
- Follow all safety procedures while operating presses, moulds, heating systems, and other equipment.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements during maintenance activities.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S in the work area.
- Support continuous improvement activities related to productivity, quality, safety, and reduction of wastage.

Required Technical Knowledge:

The candidate should have practical knowledge of:

- Press machine operation
- Carpet moulding and forming processes
- Hydraulic and pneumatic press systems
- Mould loading and unloading
- Temperature, pressure, and cycle time control
- Moulding process parameters
- Product trimming and finishing
- Basic troubleshooting of press and moulding machines
- Identification of moulding defects
- Understanding of product drawings and specifications

Skills and Competencies

- Good knowledge of press and moulding machine operations.
- Ability to set and monitor machine parameters.
- Ability to identify product and process defects.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work safely around high-temperature surfaces and heavy machinery.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Solid focus on quality and production targets.
- Knowledge of 5S, workplace safety, and housekeeping requirements.
- Ability to work in shifts.

Qualification and Experience

- ITI / Diploma / Technical qualification preferred.
- Relevant experience in press machine, moulding machine, automotive carpet, or plastic/rubber product manufacturing will be preferred.
- Experience in hydraulic press operation and carpet moulding processes will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
