The opportunity

We are looking for Associate Managers with 6–8 years of experience in M&A; life cycle, carve-out / integration of a business post-announcement of transaction, cross-border M&A; who specialize in Standalone Cost Models, Stranded Cost Models, and One-time costs.

This role sits within EY Parthenon Deal Management’s Standalone Costing (SAC) Centre of Excellence (CoE), which is the global hub for delivering all standalone, stranded, and one time cost analyses across transactions.

Your key responsibilities

- Demonstrate excellent skills in developing and implementing standalone cost models, stranded cost models, and one-time cost projections following carve-out, spins and Integrations

- Develop and apply functional cost and headcount benchmarks using third‑party datasets to validate future‑state standalone assumptions

- Identify and quantify cost, dis‑synergy, and entanglement risks impacting standalone EBITDA and deal valuation

- Classify costs into various functional heads using trial balance and further classifying into direct vs allocated costs and headcount vs non headcount costs

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective management and optimization of standalone projects, stranded assets, and one-time expenditures

- Build strong relationships with EY offices across the globe, demonstrating knowledge of regional practices and contributing to client satisfaction

- Support business development activities by providing expertise on standalone cost models, stranded cost models, and one-time cost considerations

- Provide guidance to project teams and mentor junior professionals, fostering their growth and development within the CoE

- Conduct timely performance reviews for employees and develop other professionals by providing effective performance feedback and training.

Lead by example

- Identify business development opportunities and assist Partners and Senior Managers on proposals and new business opportunities





- Leverage and enhance AI‑driven tools and tech enablement solutions across standalone, stranded, and one‑time cost modelling, including refining prompt libraries, improving automation outputs, and supporting the continuous enhancement of AI services used within SAC engagements

Skills and attributes for success

- Good understanding of M&A; life cycle, carve-out / integration of a business post-announcement of transaction, cross-border M&A;

- Possess financial analysis experience from a number of pre- and post-deal transactions, with the ability to link detailed operational analysis to P&L;, cash flow, and balance sheet

- Understanding of corporate allocations and methodology to replace allocated costs

- Skill to synthesize approaches to complex carve-out and integration conflicts

- Talent to adapt to new challenges and ideas

- Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation, and interpersonal skills

- Solid written and verbal communication skills

- Strong executive presence with good networking and negotiation skills

To qualify for the role, you must have

- Post Graduate degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, computer science, or related field from a premier institute with 6-8 years of applicable industry and/or consulting experience

- Understanding of M&A; life cycle, carve-out / integration of a business post-announcement of transaction, cross-border M&A; with specialized knowledge of standalone costs, stranded costs, and one-time costs

- Proficiency in Excel‑based financial and cost modelling, with the ability to translate outputs into executive‑ready PowerPoint materials





- Willingness to undertake international travel as per business requirement

Ideally, you’ll also have
