Position description: The role involves overseeing and managing the engineering operations within the Blast Furnace Electrical & Automation department at Jindal Ferrous Limited, a leading company in the Mining & Metals industry. The position requires a seasoned qualified to ensure the optimal performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical and automation systems critical to blast furnace operations. The individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions, uphold safety standards, and drive operational efficiency in a high-demand industrial environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical and automation systems specific to blast furnace operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and automation issues promptly.
- Manage and supervise a team of engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and fostering skill development.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements in all engineering activities within the department.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing system performance data and recommending upgrades or modifications.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and project proposals for management review.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors for procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical and automation equipment.
- Monitor budgetary allocations and control costs related to engineering projects and maintenance activities.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate best practices into the department’s operations.
