Vendor Development Engineer – Machining Shop & Precision Components

Location: Rajkot, Gujarat

Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM

Qualification: Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 3–5 Years

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and develop new vendors for machined components, and automotive parts.
- Conduct supplier assessments, capability studies, and process audits.
- Review manufacturing processes, including CNC turning, VMC, HMC, grinding, broaching, and other machining operations.
- Analyze engineering drawings, technical specifications, GD&T;, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with the quality, production, and purchase departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and annual rate contracts.
- Monitor supplier performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
- Support suppliers in implementing process improvements and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D methodologies.
- Resolve quality concerns and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Prepare supplier performance reports and maintain vendor-related documentation.

Required Skills





- Thorough understanding of machining processes and automobile manufacturing operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and inspection reports.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and supplier management systems.
- Ability to travel for supplier audits and vendor development activities.
