Job Title: Procurement Specialist
Department: Procurement
Location: Ahmedabad
Job Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services required for company projects. The role ensures timely procurement, cost optimization, quality compliance, and effective supplier management while supporting project schedules and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and company goals.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, contractors, and vendors for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts to achieve cost savings and value.
- Prepare and manage requests for quotations (RFQs), purchase orders (POs), and procurement documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with project teams to ensure material availability.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and site teams to understand procurement needs.
- Ensure purchased materials meet technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Track supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or commercial issues.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement without compromising quality or timelines.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare periodic procurement reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations.
- Manage procurement budgets and support cost control initiatives.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
- Stay informed about market trends, material price fluctuations, and supply chain risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Qualified certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- 2 +years of procurement experience, with at least 1 year in the construction industry.
- Experience in purchasing construction materials, heavy equipment, and subcontractor services.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of construction materials, procurement processes, and supply chain management.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and construction drawings.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management skills.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
