The Design Engineer is responsible for design of recent or existing products, in line with planning, process, quality targets. He/she produces complete engineering designs translated in CAD models and creates all the associated documentation with in PDM systems.
Principle Accountability
- Creation / Modifications of 3D models using standard CAD software.
- Strong in preparation of drawings with basic GD&T; or as per references.
- Knowledge of Sheetmetal/Casting/Forging manufacturing Processes.
- Communicate with the customer on day to day activities.
- Prepare and maintain engineering release and change documents (PDM)
- Execute projects to meet the customer's time line and quality requirements.
- Participate in GAP meeting and update information GAP boards timely
- Actively participate in employee involvement/ Continuous Improvement activities /knowledge management initiatives.
Must have the following experience:
- Experience on CAD tools - Catia V5 & UG NX.
- General Engineering knowledge, Automobile, strength of material etc
- Exposure to design and development environment.
- Experience on design standards and drafting guidelines.
Following are the added advantages:
- Exposure to Exhaust system design.
- Multi tool skills, more than one CAD software experience
- Experience in working with PLM.
- Exposure to product development process .
- Experience on quality systems TS16946.
