Job Summary:

Gokulam Grand Trivandrum is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and professional Bartender to join our talented team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests by preparing and serving a variety of beverages in a high-end five-star hotel environment. Your role is crucial in ensuring a positive and memorable experience for all our patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and Serving Drinks

- Mixing Drinks: Expertly prepare cocktails, beverages, and other drinks according to the hotel's standard recipes or guest preferences.
- Presenting Drinks: Ensure drinks are served in the appropriate glassware, garnished elegantly, and presented neatly.
- Knowledge of Beverages: Stay informed about wine, liquor, cocktails, and the latest trends in beverages, offering recommendations to guests.

Customer Service

- Guest Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, interacting with guests in a friendly and professional manner. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with tact and diplomacy.
- Personalization: Make recommendations based on guests' preferences, offer a personalized experience, and remember regular guests' choices.
- Upselling: Suggest premium liquors, wines, or cocktails to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.

Bar Maintenance

- Stocking and Inventory Management: Ensure the bar is fully stocked with liquor, garnishes, glassware, and other supplies. Monitor stock levels and inform management when items are low.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware, cleaning countertops, and ensuring everything is in good working order.
- Equipment Care: Properly maintain bar equipment like blenders, shakers, and ice machines to ensure everything functions correctly.

Health and Safety Standards

- Alcohol Responsibility:



Adhere to hotel and legal guidelines regarding the responsible serving of alcohol, ensuring that guests do not over-consume and managing intoxicated patrons appropriately.
- Food Handling: Ensure food items (like snacks or small appetizers) are prepared and presented according to health and safety regulations.

Teamwork and Collaboration

- Collaboration with Other Staff: Work closely with the waitstaff, restaurant managers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
- Training and Mentoring: Depending on the hotel, bartenders may also assist in training junior staff or current bartenders in the hotel’s procedures and standards.

Upscale Experience

- Ambience Creation: Contribute to creating a high-end, comfortable, and sophisticated atmosphere that aligns with the hotel’s brand and reputation.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure all drinks and service meet the hotel’s high standards, paying attention to presentation, service time, and guest experience.

Handling Transactions

- Processing Payments: Handle cash, credit cards, or other payment methods for drinks served at the bar or through room service.
- Billing Accuracy: Ensure accuracy in billing and ensure proper charge handling for guests ordering drinks at the bar or from a restaurant.

Event and Banquet Support

- Special Events: Support hotel events, private parties, and banquets by preparing large quantities of drinks and coordinating with event planners and other staff.

Continual Learning and Improvement

- Professional Development: Stay updated with trends in bartending, cocktails,



and the hospitality industry, attending workshops or certifications if needed.
- Guest Feedback: Act on feedback from guests to improve the quality of service.

Compliance

- Licensing and Regulations: Ensure compliance with local and national laws regarding alcohol service, age verification, and health regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of bartending experience, preferably in a five-star hotel or high-end hospitality setting.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, drink recipes, and bar operations.
- Customer Service: Exceptional guest service skills with the ability to engage with guests, make recommendations, and ensure satisfaction.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team workplace while maintaining individual accountability.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail in drink preparation, presentation, and cleanliness.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with diverse guests and colleagues.
- Health & Safety: Familiarity with local laws and regulations regarding alcohol service, as well as hygiene and safety standards.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by hotel operations.

Desirable Skills & Certifications:

- Bartender Certification: Certification or formal bartending training is mandatory.
- Knowledge of Wine & Spirits: A good understanding of various wines, spirits, and beverages.
- Language Skills: Should be fluent in English & Malayalam. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus, particularly Hindi.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
