Key Responsibilities:

Procedure Assistance: Assist gastroenterologists and nurses during endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy, gastroscopy, bronchoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy.

Equipment Preparation: Set up, calibrate, and test endoscopic equipment before procedures to ensure proper functionality.

Sterilization & Infection Control: Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and other medical instruments according to hospital protocols and infection control standards.
Patient Support: Provide reassurance and assist patients before, during, and after procedures. Help position patients and monitor their comfort.
Specimen Collection & Handling: Properly label and transport biopsy specimens for laboratory analysis.
Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of procedures, equipment usage, and sterilization records.
Inventory Management: Monitor and restock endoscopy supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are available for procedures.
Emergency Preparedness:



Assist in managing emergency situations during procedures by providing necessary equipment and support.
Compliance & Safety: Follow hospital policies, OSHA, and infection control guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required). Associate’s degree or certification in Endoscopy Technology, Surgical Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Certification: Certified Endoscopy Technician (CET) or Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) is a plus.
Experience: Previous experience as an Endoscopy Technician, Medical Assistant, or Surgical Technician (preferred but not mandatory).
Technical Skills: Familiarity with endoscopic equipment, sterilization techniques, and medical terminology.
